Common inventory challenges in auto shops & fleet

Repair delayed because the part isn't in stock

The vehicle is on the lift. The tech pulls the old part. Goes to the shelf. Empty. Now you're rush-ordering and the customer is calling every hour.

You ordered the wrong part. Again.

Wrong fitment, wrong year, wrong spec. Returns cost time and money. Keeping track of which part fits which vehicle shouldn't be this hard.

Three techs, three different suppliers, three different prices

One buys from NAPA, one from AutoZone, one from the dealer. Same part, different costs. Your margins are leaking everywhere.

Parts cores and returns are untracked

You're owed $400 in core returns that nobody submitted. Parts come back and sit on the counter for weeks. Money evaporates.

Questions

Common questions.

Can I check whether a part is in stock before booking the job?

Yes. Search by part number, SKU, or barcode and you get the current count and where it sits. Because techs adjust counts by scanning as parts come off the shelf, the number reflects what is actually there rather than the last time somebody counted.

Does it track parts across more than one shop?

Yes. Each shop, bay, storage room, or service van can be a location, and you can transfer parts between them with a record of who moved what. Starter covers 3 locations and Pro covers 5, which is enough for two shops and a van. Business at $149/mo raises it to 50.

Can it compare what different suppliers charge?

Price monitoring watches supplier websites and alerts you when a part you reorder drops in price. That is on the Business plan at $149/mo. On any paid plan you can still keep supplier records with your own pricing and lead times, and raise purchase orders against whichever supplier you choose.

Does it know which part fits which vehicle?

No. There is no vehicle fitment database, so InventoryQuick will not tell you whether a part matches a given year and model. What it does is track the parts you have chosen to stock, using your own part numbers, categories, and notes. Fitment lookups stay with your catalog or supplier.

What does it cost for an auto shop?

Starter is $19/mo for 250 parts, 3 locations, and 2 users. Pro at $49/mo covers 500 parts, 5 locations, and 3 users, and adds tool check-out. Business at $149/mo adds supplier price monitoring and demand forecasting on 5,000 parts. Pricing is flat per tier, so adding a tech does not raise the bill. The 7-day free trial unlocks every feature on every tier, and no card is required to start.
