For sign shops

Inventory software for a sign shop.
Know what is on the rack.

InventoryQuick is inventory software for sign shops, on iPhone, Android and the web. Track substrate, vinyl rolls, hardware and LED parts as items in the shop, warehouse and truck, scan an item's barcode to find it, set a reorder point on each item, and raise purchase orders. Plans start at $19/month, and you won't be charged for 7 days.

You won't be charged for 7 days. From $19/month. No per-user fees inside a plan.

The problem, in a sign shop's terms

Most shops start with a whiteboard, a clipboard or a spreadsheet. It works until the shop gets busy.

We quoted it on material we do not have.

The sheet counted on Tuesday was cut for another job on Thursday and nobody wrote it down. The next quote assumes it is still on the rack.

The LEDs are on the truck. Or in the warehouse.

Substrate, vinyl, hardware and LED parts live in the shop, the warehouse and the install truck, and the count is only right in one of them.

We found out we were out when the install was booked.

Reordering happens at the supplier's counter or as a rush order, instead of on a plan.

Who has the drill?

Tools and gear go out with the install crew, and nobody can say who has what or when it is due back.

What a sign shop tracks, and how

One item per material, size or part. Counts are whole numbers: sheets, rolls and boxes.

What a sign shop tracks, and how
Substrate: ACM, aluminum, coroplast, acrylicOne item per material and size, counted in whole sheets, with a reorder point that flags it when the count gets low.
Vinyl: cast, calendared, specialtyOne item per roll type and colour, counted in whole rolls. A part roll is not tracked as a fraction.
Hardware: posts, brackets, standoffs, fastenersOne item per bin or box with a barcode label. Scan the label to open the item. Items with no barcode get one made from the SKU, and you can print the labels.
LED modules and power suppliesItems with a supplier and a reorder point. Items below their reorder point show on the dashboard's low-stock panel, each with an Order button that starts a purchase order.
The shop, the warehouse and the install truckLocations, with counts per location and transfers between them on every plan: 3 on Starter, 5 on Pro, 50 on Business, unlimited on Enterprise.
Tools and gear out with install crewsCheck-in and check-out, on the Pro plan and up: scan it out to a person or job site, add an expected return date, and a daily overdue summary is emailed to the account owner.
Material set aside for a booked jobWork orders and cutlist import, on Enterprise: each job carries its own material list, which you build or import from a cutlist, and its outstanding quantities become committed demand.

Questions sign shops ask

What inventory software should a small sign shop use to track substrate, vinyl and hardware?

Use software that scans item barcodes, counts every item by location, raises purchase orders without charging per user, and flags an item once its total falls below its reorder point. InventoryQuick does all of that on every plan from $19/month. It tracks stock and is not accounting software.

I run a sign shop with about 200 items across 3 locations. What inventory app should I use?

That is the Starter plan: up to 250 items, 3 locations and 2 users for $19/month. Pro, at $49/month, raises that to 500 items, 5 locations and 3 users and adds check-out for install gear.

Cheap inventory management software for a small sign shop, under 50 dollars a month?

Starter is $19/month and Pro is $49/month, both flat-priced with no per-user fees inside the plan. Pro adds check-in and check-out for install gear and Photo Recognition (10/mo).

What is the best way to track tools and equipment checked out to install crews on a job site?

Scan each tool out to a person or job site, add an expected return date, and let the daily overdue summary do the chasing. Check-in and check-out is on the Pro plan and up, from $49/month.

Which plan fits a sign shop

Every plan includes item barcode scanning, label printing, reorder points, purchase orders, sales orders, transfers between locations and CSV import, with no per-user fees inside a plan.

Frequently asked questions

How much does inventory software for a sign shop cost?

Starter is $19/month, Pro is $49/month, Business is $149/month and Enterprise is $349/month. There are no per-user fees inside a plan, and you won't be charged for 7 days.

Can I scan the barcodes already on my materials and hardware?

Yes. Scan a manufacturer barcode once while adding the item and InventoryQuick remembers it, so every future scan of that product pulls up the right record. Items with no barcode get a CODE128 code made from the SKU, and you can print the labels. Barcodes are for items: shelves and bins do not have barcodes.

Can I track vinyl by the foot?

No. Counts are whole numbers, so track vinyl by the roll and substrate by the sheet. A part roll is not tracked as a fraction.

Can I see what is on the install truck?

Yes. Add the truck as a location and move items to it with a transfer. Transfers are on every plan. Starter includes 3 locations, Pro 5, Business 50, and Enterprise is unlimited.

Can I bring in my spreadsheet?

Yes. Upload a CSV or Excel (.xlsx) file, check how each column is matched to an item field, then import. CSV import is on every paid plan. If your file has no reorder point column, the import offers to set one for the items in it.

Does it do work orders for a booked job?

Work orders and cutlist import are on the Enterprise plan ($349/month): each job carries its own material list, which you build or import from a cutlist, and its outstanding quantities become committed demand. There is no saved or multi-level bill of materials. On the other plans you track materials as items and order from the dashboard's low-stock panel.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. There are iPhone and Android apps, and any phone camera scans item barcodes. The web app is for desktop.

Does it replace my accounting software?

No. InventoryQuick tracks stock: items, counts, locations, barcodes, reorder points, purchase orders, sales orders and transfers. It is not accounting software.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every new account gets a free trial. You pick a plan and enter a card to start it, and you won’t be charged for 7 days. When the trial ends, the plan you picked begins — starting at $19/mo for Starter. If the subscription does not continue, your account goes read-only and your data is preserved.
